Efficient & Scalable
Significantly reduced the time devoted to reforecasting the group consolidation with the implementation of an import process for all Legal Entity financials.
Cash & Financing Visibility
Our dedicated financing module delivers a detailed view of the intragroup financing arrangements and group cash position, which gives users the ability to forecast future commitments.
Group Budgeting & Forecasting
Thanks to the deployment of our operating cost module, OceanWinds can now easily upload operating expenses and personnel costs by department and review the intergroup reallocation assumptions.
Challenge
With over 1.5GW of offshore assets under construction and 4GW in development, Ocean Winds required a new consolidation tool to meet its internal planning and reporting requirements.
This rapidly growing business had an existing budgeting model already in place, but it wasn’t able to support future growth aspirations.
Solution
Working closely with Ocean Winds’ Financial Director and team members, we developed a solution that could easily manage the consolidation of 34 legal entity structures and the production of integrated monthly forecasts.
It would also include the flexibility to consolidate future Legal Entities, and consider the group’s intercompany recharge and financing structures.
Bespoke import templates provided Ocean Winds with a standardised process to follow when updating any Legal Entities, and offered a suitable level of granularity to develop a robust forecast.
Results
Ocean Winds have continued to adopt this model since its inception in 2021.
This has allowed the team to focus more of their time on the group’s financial positions, while utilising key metrics via a dedicated dashboard page.
As the model now serves as a cornerstone of the business’s planning and cash management processes, Ocean Winds are eager to utilise this model in their future endeavours.
This is a testament to the model’s ease of use, and its ability to offer fit-for-purpose solutions to rapidly expanding businesses.
